We'll be re-opening very soon – with more information to come shortly.
The 3rd Bethnal Green Beavers is where the adventure begins. Our Beavers are aged 6 to 8, and every week they jump in, muck in, and have fun together. From building dens and toasting marshmallows to learning brand-new skills, Beavers are all about friendship, fun and trying something new.
We give young people the chance to
Make friends
Be part of a team from the very first night.
Give it a go
From crafts and games to outdoor adventures.
Learn by doing
Discover new skills in fun, hands-on ways.
Celebrate achievements
Collect badges for new skills and big moments.
We can only run Beavers with the help of adults who get stuck in alongside the young people. We’re looking for regular volunteers to join our Section Team and help shape the adventure each week. If that’s not possible, even a turn or two on the parents’ rota makes a big difference!
If you're feeling less hands-on, then there are also opportunities to support the whole Group by joining our trustee board, which helps guide 3rd Bethnal Green Scouts behind the scenes. However much time you can spare, we’d love to have you involved.
Badges are a big part of the Beavers’ adventure. They’re a way to celebrate all the new things young people try and the skills they pick up along the way.
At the 3rd Bethnal Green, Beavers can earn:
Activity Badges
Everything from Animal Friend and Space to Cook and Sports.
Staged Activity Badges
Badges you can start at Beavers and keep building on through Cubs and Scouts, like Hikes Away or Swimmer.
Challenge Awards
Bigger adventures that bring skills together, like teamwork, outdoor fun and creativity.
The Chief Scout’s Bronze Award
The highest award a Beaver can achieve, earned by completing all the Challenge Awards.
Each badge tells a story: of trying something new, having fun with friends, and achieving something you might not have thought you could do. And yes, there’s even a Joining In Award just for turning up, being part of the team and giving it a go.
Beavers wear a bright blue sweatshirt with the Beaver Scouts logo on it. That’s all you need to get started. Parents don’t have to buy anything extra – trousers, shoes and coats can be whatever’s comfortable and practical.
When your young person joins, they’ll also get their group scarf (neckerchief), which shows they’re part of 3rd Bethnal Green Scouts.
Uniform is available directly from the Scout Store, where every purchase helps support Scouting nationally.
(For where to sew badges on to uniform there's a handy diagram on the Scouts Website.)
